Hobbiton, Middle Earth and Scenic Lakes

The vivid descriptions of Hobbits in JRR Tolkiens books have been brought to life through the magic of the Lord of The Rings films, directed by New Zealander Peter Jackson. Hobbiton is one of the places in The Shire where The Hobbits live in both the Lord of The Rings trilogy and The Hobbit.

Tour 1 – Hobbiton & Middle Earth (6 Hours)

• Travel over the Kaimai ranges to Matamata, well known for its thoroughbred industry and dairy farming heritage.
• Discover the real Middle-earth on the most picturesque private farmland near Matamata, where you can visit The Hobbiton Movie Set from The Lord of The Rings Trilogy and the upcoming Hobbit movie in a fascinating 2 Hour guided tour.

Vehicle and Additional Tour charges

Enjoy a scenic River Cruise on lake Karapiro, which is the longest of eight hydro lakes on The Waikato River, New Zealands longest river which flows through the lush grasslands of The Waikato, an area well known for its dairy farming and thoroughbred industry.

Tour 2 – Scenic Lake Cruise (6 Hours)

• Travel through the scenery of The Kaimai Ranges and the lush farmlands of The Waikato Heartland to Lake Karapiro
• Board The Karapiro Cruiser for a relaxing 1 hour cruise on New Zealand’s longest river. Enjoy the sights and sounds of New Zealands most productive and picturesque farmland
• Return to Tauranga with a stop for lunch at the quirky little town of Tirau, which boasts a large variety or unique shops, cafes and restaurants.

The rates given are for the exclusive use of the vehicle and include your personal chauffeur who will be your escort for the day and provide full commentary during the tour. There is an additional charge for children’s seat restraints. The age of the child would be required and price would be on application.
